I figured I'd just continue Phoenix, but now I'm wondering.. What's everyone want? I'd really like to get people who haven't had much chance to play in my games involved (Aero, Moepy, Tem, Doan, Anne? etc)

I think it's pretty well established that a human-only game is looked down on, so I'm not going to keep trying that

Phoenix by Night: Pretty rough and tumble Sabbat game, players have lost characters in this game. Story-driven, not much freedom, players forced together, etc.

Option 2: Players are Independent of the main sects.

Option 3: Anarch game.

In any case, I'm going to stick with the Seakyro system. Still using P&P Csheets and skill increases, but instead of rolling you just whisper me what the stats are in that situation and I paint the results. It seems the most fair, cinematic, and expedient.

And just because its only "Anarch game", doesn't mean it would be a shallow boring story. You know me

although, with so many new players, how are we gonna deal with the schism between the new players and the experienced ones, new chars for all? (sounds most fair to all)

New players can be templars for older stronger players (if you could survive the abuse)
Some very strong character will have me as his templar!

aye, Aero has a good point. I think it would be best everyone made a new char or atleast reverted back to the new stats if you do plan on keeping your old one. Atleast then the game will be fair to everyone. As Phoenix is well... Rough I think thats the best option.

Firstly, new chars are always allowed.

Secondly, it seems the two choices are:

-Everyone starts fresh. Maintains realism, no story-gaps to explain, etc.
-Old characters are allowed at full power.

I'm not going to have old chars coming back as neonates. We've done that before and I didn't like it. Why is this veteran vampire who has diablerized elders as weak as a neonate?

Having original characters, who maybe have played all the way since Phoenix ch1, is realistic. It's not entirely realistic for everyone to be at the same exact balanced level, that's an artificial constraint.

So it's either everyone starts fresh, or everyone plays whoever they want. So says I.

Personally I'm fine with either. But if everyone starts fresh I may get a random number generator again for Generation AND extra freebies. This isn't a deathmatch game, it's roleplay. Some people will be weaker and some stronger. Some more focused on social or mental, some on combat. Personally I think it's much more interesting when you don't know the strength of your allies/rivals. Adds a whole dimension of being careful who you piss off, testing your rival's strengths, etc.

BUT there is one rule I'm adding: All equipment will be gained in-game. You can still have resources (money), and basic misc items like clothes, shoes, etc.

So if you want a katana, acquire one in-game. And good luck with that, katanas aren't handed out like candy in modern times. You may end up with a cheap replica that breaks on the first swing. It's just part of Modern WoD.

Speaking of, there will be stronger restrictions on characters. I don't care if you're super badass, if that's what you enjoy playing, go for it. What I WILL restrict on is realism. If you have 4 of any skill, it better be damn well explained. And 5? Very doubtful I'll allow it. I was pretty chill on this for Seakyro, and there were lots of people with 5 in a stat. 5 computer, 5 intelligence, 5 melee, 5 firearms, etc. Pretty crazy if that was in reality. That would be like every world record holder for every major discipline being in the same city and hanging out with each other by pure coincidence.

I'm not going to say what IS allowed, just run it by me

Anyway, it sounds like most people want a reset with fresh characters. I'm cool with that.

Alright, It's just Phoenix is a bit rough i've seen something similiar in Doans sabbat game, players are more focused on living than RP. As for the equipment, do old players e.g. Lysander still have their stuff? Or do these new rules apply?

I've never seen anyone have their life in danger who didn't prompt it in my game. If I throw danger at you you're not going to die because you didn't have 5 firearms 5 melee 5 brawl 5 dodge.

And as for other players, there's no fucking way I'd allow one player to just kill another player for no reason.

But if a character seems determined to piss off another character, who happens to be stronger.... why would I prevent the consequences? Pretty realistic situation. In reality it's usually called "biting off more than you can chew"

I meant, players killing others who didn't do anything. Now that you've said you wouldn't let that happen I'll end that there, as for the equipment will old players still keep what they had or will they need to earn that in game too?

Aye I'd never allow that in past games either.

As for equipment, sorry I skipped that question. If we went the route of old players keeping all of their experience and power, I'd allow some equipment as well. And of course, any equipment that those players had acquired in past games.

Personally I don't really mind having some old powerful chars returning (this is realistic).
On one condition: As long as it doesn't go over the old players' heads and they start ruining the game for the new players.
